Chandigarh Location Recce Day 5

Day 5

There are lots of things to like about the city. What i particularly find admirable and is a welcome change is that no road in Chandigarh is named after any person, politician, brigadier, poet, freedom fighter or philosopher. The city stands for the new and the upcoming and as Nehru had said ‘free from the encumbrances of the past’.

Punjab University Campus
The crew had breakfast of aloo tikki and parathe with coffee, all under 50 bucks a head. Students need inexpensive and healthy food and that is of no short supply in the city, especially so in the PU Canteen.
Sector 17
The buzzing shopping and retail place of the town. The sector has both local shops and exclusive EBO’s I have tried to capture the vitality, cheerfulness and ambience of the town square in this time lapse video.

Airport Road

We were off to the jet point later in the evening. On the side, over 3 kms away was the tarmac from where we will take a flight back.
In just a month’s time the city will get to inaugurate its International terminal. By now, only flights arriving from other cities were flying in. I have always looked up in the air, see a plane in its flight path and feel happy. I just do not know why. Something just bring happiness. For me plane watching is one of them.
